FIVE FEET APART

FIVE FEET APART

MOVIE REVIEW

Release date- 7 March 2019

Director- Justin Baldoni

Starred by Cole Sprouse(Will) and Haley Lu Richardson (Stella)

Five feet apart is a rule-breaker and hopelessly romantic teen drama movie. An epic love story of 2 incredible people Stella and Will who meet in the hospital, and are the patient of a life-threatening incurable disease Cystic Fibrosis (CF). The illness that brings them together is what keeps them apart. CF patients need to be kept 5 feet apart as they suffer the risk of contracting infections. This becomes a huge hindrance when Stella and Will fall in love with each other.

 Review:

This is a plot like any other ‘tragic romance’ genre that is full of typical clichés one would expect and a beautiful sad ending that convinces the audience to shed their tears. But it has several astonishments as well. Haley Lu Richardson portrayed the character Stella who is a caring, optimistic 17-year-old girl who wants to meet her friends and go out like any other 17-year-old but most of the time she is at the hospital under strict and heavy doses of medicines. As soon as Stella meets Will, you know they’re going to fall for each other, but the plot takes its time to get there. Cole Sprouse as Will has also done a fabulous job. But I find his dialogues were considerably cheesy especially at the ending. It is a one-time watch drama even though it was quite anticipated but it will still keep you engaging.

But the movie is a success when it has influenced humankind in a good way and which five feet apart did. They tried to make a genuine attempt to illustrate how CF patients deal with their problems which they can relate to and make us a bit closer to them.

 3.5/5 stars.
